Another One Down of the Day: Rick Perry has scheduled a press conference for 11 AM ET this morning, where he is expected to announce the immediate suspension of his presidential campaign.
Sources who spoke with Politico say the Texas governor will endorse Newt Gingrich on his way out. Gingrich, who has been surging ahead of this weekend’s South Carolina primary, will likely enjoy a substantial and much-needed boost to potentially push.
In somewhat related news that could impact the presidential race, certified total from the Iowa caucus put Rick Santorum ahead of Mitt Romney by 34 votes, but, with 8 precincts forever unresolved, the result has officially been declared a tie.
